We used NYC’s Motor Vehicle Collisions datasets on NYC Open Data (Crashes, Persons, Vehicles) filtered to Jan 1, 2022–Sep 19, 2025 and to New York State Senate District 15. Counts (crashes, injuries, deaths) and year‑to‑date comparisons come from those records as compiled for CrashCount’s SD 15 page. On Liberty a parked pickup lunged. A driver cut into a young rider’s line. Steel met bike. The man flew and hit hard. His head met the street. Police recorded driver distraction.
